Our Warwickshire Website Events 2016

Polesworth, Wolston, Bedworth… you guys took a helluva visiting.

Anyway, the last year has seen us trail around the county, taking in 27 different venues where the team have been capturing your stories, speaking to the public, and getting all kinds of interesting curios passed to us. It all began on January 19th, when an intrepid duo visited Polesworth Tithe Barn to speak to the North Warwickshire History Forum. Fast forward to the 7th July, and we concluded the sessions at Wolston Library. The biggest hurdle for this particular event was negotiating the rather friendly, if slightly confused cows that gathered to observe my journey…

Epic poetry!

Anyway, what did we find out? That there are a lot of you who care about your homes, your county, your towns and villages and more besides! We met people of all ages and genders, who had plenty to tell us about our county. From Nuneaton, we spoke to a chap who found himself on the picture of the elephants that has graced our front page since launch. He offered us a comment. From Southam, we heard about the last ox roast, while Polesworth has seen us gain an epic amount of local poetry histories. Want to hear some of it and not just read it? Well I’ve added it to this page for your delight…

The end?

No! It’s not the end of these events. There are more coming, starting on 15th September at Coleshill Library. Pop in, bring your stories, your memories, your pictures. Tell us all about your past. And of course don’t forget that the general idea of these events is to point out the very existence of this website, so bring those along who need to find out about a good thing, which this website surely is… you know it makes sense.

But you know all about that, you’re reading this website so you know it’s all about talking to people… even in an online setting.

So join in, get involved…
