Going Back in Time?

Doesn’t time fly? Anyway, it’s a year since the museum re-opened, and to be honest it still seems like only yesterday! Much has gone on since then, of course, but it seems only fair to acknowledge, and indeed celebrate, the year anniversary of Market Hall Museum’s re-opening.

So, to that end… what are you doing on Saturday? We’d love to see you at the museum, where you can enjoy 3D pen sculpture making, retro computer games, electronic activities and electric painting, all with digital and technology artists from BOM (Birmingham Open Media). After this event, young people (aged 16-24) will also have the opportunity to get involved with further digital arts workshops and create work to be exhibited in the museum and online.

Speaking of young people

You may remember the Time Travellers summer activity programme we put on in July. This was for 19 local children in need aged 6 to 12 years from Warwick CV34 schools and was a great success. So much so, in fact, we’d like to do it again.

This is where you come in.

On Friday 9th March we’re holding a cocktail evening at the museum to raise funds to run this again. Sneddons Mixology has created a themed “Time Travellers” cocktail menu especially for the event, and you’ll get one free included in the price of your entry ticket. There’ll also be a raffle, and a chance to win some great prizes.

Temporal disturbances

So, a year since the museum re-opened seems an ideal time to look back at some of our successful events, and of course it goes without saying we want to look forward and be able to do more in the future. This time travelling seems somehow appropriate for a heritage organisation, no?
