Rugby Art Gallery & Museum
Our heritage journey spans Roman times, Rugby’s rich industrial heritage, and the birth of the famous game. Our social history collection includes a wealth of fascinating objects that reflect the changing pattern of social, domestic, working and community life in Rugby and the borough. On permanent display in the archaeology gallery is the Tripontium collection – a showcase for the artefacts from the Romano-British town of that name, which was located five miles from the centre of modern Rugby.
Three changing gallery spaces
Rugby is the proud owner of the Rugby Collection, established in 1946 to collect works by artists of ‘promise and renown’ and now holding over 220 paintings, prints, drawings, photographs and video works. Our three changing gallery spaces showcase exciting exhibitions of contemporary and modern art, including selections from the Rugby Collection, as well the talents of local artists and craftspeople.
