We are celebrating the bicentenary year of George Eliot’s birth! Join us to illuminate the places that made and inspired her. From rural life and places of poverty, to urban living and industry riches, come and discover more about George Eliot Country with this fantastic chance to view unseen objects from the museum’s collection.

Can’t make it to the exhibition?

Don’t fret. The new pop-up museum display, located in Nuneaton Town Hall ground floor waiting area, will also be recognising the 200th birthday of George Eliot. Expect an enlightening display put together by volunteers of the Exploring Eliot project which aims to showcase the fantastic George Eliot collections at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery, Nuneaton Library, and the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum.

As with all our exhibitions, admission is FREE and there are other displays to enjoy during your visit. Check out the Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery Facebook page for full details of the 200th Birthday celebrations.

The Museum will be closed from December 25th through to December 31st inclusive. The Museum will re-open, with normal opening times from Wednesday 1st January 2020.
