Description of this historic site
A windmill mound marks the site of a former windmill which might date back to the Medieval period. The mound is visible as an earthwork. It is situated 400m south west of Lower Shuckburgh.

Notes about this historic site
1 ‘Windmill Hill’. Large windmill mound surrounded by ridge and furrow. SP4861.
2 The grid reference given in reference 1 is incorrect. The mound is situated in a field with very deep ridge and furrow and is very clear, as is the hollow dug to build it. Two slight depressions are visible on its top. The base of the mound has a circumference of about 40m.
