The church is worth a visit it is situated next to the castle. Also the reading rooms have an art class on Saturday mornings
wonderful job done, interesting place to visit
I used to be involved with a voluntary, practical conservation group called the BTCV. In about the 2000’s we did conservation work in the grounds of Astley Castle. It was more of a long term project. Towards the end of the project they had started on the building itself. I remember that the remains of the moat never went dry. Someone said that it was because there was a hitherto unknown spring keeping it topped up. When the building was finished some of us did get an invitation to the opening evening. Sadly I was not able to attend though.
