Stretton on Dunsmore
Contains
Stretton has had a settlement since at least Anglo-Saxon times. Located on the Fosse Way, its church was rebuilt in the 19th century. Agriculturalist Joseph Elkington was baptised in the church whilst Patrick Bowes-Lyon, a relative of the Queen, was married there. Of note is a monument on the junction of the Fosse Way and A45, marking George V's review of troops before Gallipoli.
