Warwickshire in 100 Objects: Giant Irish Deer
In common with many other collecting institutions with Victorian origins, the Warwickshire Museum has a fine specimen of an extinct Giant Irish deer. It has been on open display for many generations and remains an extremely popular exhibit. Probably a composite, dug from an Irish peat bog during the 19th century. It is approximately 11,000 years old.
