The Welsh Road or Way

Description of this historic site

A trackway or drove road, known as the Welsh Way, which has existed since the Medieval or Post Medieval period. It was used by drovers to move cattle to the markets. The Leamington Road out of Kenilworth now marks the line of the trackway.

Notes about this historic site

1 A drovers road with wide verges for pasturing animals. The road winds its way through farming country, generally avoiding centres of population. Road is mentioned on 18th century and later documents.
