Possible Shrunken Medieval Settlement to E of Church, Fenny Compton.
The site of a possible shrunken village dating to the Medieval period. The remains of several holloways are visible as earthworks. A Post Medieval house also existed on the site. It is located 400m south east of Fenny Compton.
1 Earthworks are visible in Hall Yard, Middle Field and Ladbrook Meadow. In Hall Yard, they are overlain by later landscaping. Definite holloways can be traced, but that in Ladbrook Meadow appears to cut through ridge and furrow. There is an unusual circular mound in Middle Field which is about 4m in diameter, surrounded by a circular ditch 10m in diameter. It was thought that this might have been a horse-mill.
