Notes about this historic site
1 Westley Bridge is ‘Wolfyeuesbrygge, Wolfiesbrugge’ in the 13th century, ‘Wolsee Bridge’ in 1546, ‘Wolce Bridge’ in 1547.
2 The present bridge is single span, of red sandstone and brick. The under part appears to be quite old, with modern reinforcements and additions above on the downstream side. The upstream side has been repaired in recent times.

- Timetrail record

Comments
The under part is of brick construction on stone footings, the facade Of red sandstone seems to be of a more than needful depth if just a facade to an earlier structure. Possibly the facade being well built on the same line of footings predates the undeparts, which could be repairs to a collapsed centre section.
