Notes about this historic site
1 Grass field between the church and stream is very uneven. Mounds indicate one large house and a number of smaller ones. On the Ladbroke map of 1638 the field is named as ‘Farm Yard’ and a farmhouse occupied by William Loe is marked. The large mound is almost certainly the remains of William Loe’s house. The desertion was probably between 1639 and 1700.
