Notes about this historic site
1 During 1996, an archaeological evaluation in advance of construction work identified features and pottery suggesting a that an early 14th century timber domestic building may have stood on the site. However, most of the site was covered by the remains of a property built in 1851. Despite this the preservation of Medieval layers is thought to be quite good. The medieval remains were limited to Trench 2.
