Notes about this historic site
1 Crackley Bridge on its upstream side is a modern single-span concrete structure. The downstream side is sandstone, of much earlier date, but it is impossible to give an exact date. There is a considerable amount of sandstone rubble in the stream which could be derived from the earlier bridge.
2 Crackley Bridge shown.
