Crackley Bridge

Description of this historic site

Crackley Bridge, the remains of a possible Post Medieval bridge. The downstream side is sandstone of an older date than the upstream concrete side. It crosses the Finham Brook north east of Crackley.

Notes about this historic site

1 Crackley Bridge on its upstream side is a modern single-span concrete structure. The downstream side is sandstone, of much earlier date, but it is impossible to give an exact date. There is a considerable amount of sandstone rubble in the stream which could be derived from the earlier bridge.
