A local schoolmaster Mr Hassall mentions this station in his school logbook:
- Jan. 15th 1892. The new books for the library to the worth of £4. 10. 0 arrived at Brandon Station from the Religious Tract Society.
- Aug. 28th 1903. Another parcel of goods from Birmingham, containing Thermometers, Drawing Books, Copy and Exercise Books for Arithmetic in upper Standards. But a jar of ink sent on Aug. 22nd has not yet arrived at the station.
- Jan. 27th 1906. Goods from Birmingham have been down at the Railway Station since last Saturday although I paid for the carriage, & asked the Station Master to send them up. [They arrived the following day]
