The station was opened in 1879, replacing an earlier station from 1838. Despite being the only station between Coventry and Rugby, Brandon and Wolston struggled for customers and was closed in 1960.

In 1955 the Queen invited me to go into the airforce you see. We went to Cardington for a week to be indoctrinated, and then we got on a train to go to Bridgnorth. And the train as it came along the line it stopped at Priory Road, and I looked out the window and there was one of my mate’s mothers hanging the washing out on the line. And we stopped on Brandon station and there was a porter – we used to call him Barra as he pushed a barrow.
