The site of an undated burial which was discovered in 1827 whilst building Willes Bridge over the River Leam.

Notes about this historic site
1 1827: When Willes Bridge was built, while excavating the ground to lay the foundations of the abutment walls, there was found at a depth of 4.26m from the surface, nearly in line with the river and about 3.9m from the edge of the stream, a human skull in excellent condition. An Oak and an Elm tree were also found near the same spot.
