Stocks at Lower Shuckburgh
Description of this historic site
Village stocks, in which an offender's wrists and/or ankles were held as a punishment. The stocks probably date to the Post Medieval period, and the remaining wooden stump is located 50m southwest of St John the Baptist's Church.

Comments
The stocks were completely renovated by Andrew Strange in the late 1990s using as much of the original material as possible at Jowaki and refitting was carried out by locals including big Pat and Kim Cockburn. Many of the locals were involved in the fund raising for the project.
