Preston (on Stour) 10 hides.
3 The first edition map shows a compact village with lanes enclosing areas of settlement. There are empty plots and small fields, some orcharded. The village is bounded to the east by the river, to the north by a boundary hedge where it marches with Alscot Park, and to the west and south by lanes. The church dates from the C12th. There is no ridge and furrow plotting for the parish, but the database mapping shows survival in two fields to the southwest.
