Notes about this historic site
1 An evaluation of a site for a new Library, Museum and Art Gallery around the existing Rugby Library suggested that the land lay across the rear of properties fronting the Medieval market place. However trial trenching located only a single Medieval boundary ditch and a small quantity of material, this suggests the area was not intensively occupied. Most of the features excavated related to the 19th century and later activity.
