Iron Age round house

Description of this historic site

The site of a possible Iron Age round house. A circle of post holes was found during an excavation as well as Iron Age pottery. The site is located 500m west of Stretton on Fosse.

Notes about this historic site

1 A group of large post holes indicated the presence of a large circular structure (F38), which had, unfortunately, been cut by a recent machine trench on its W side. No other features were seen in association with this building. Associated coarse handmade pottery probably indicates that this is an Iron Age round house.
