Notes about this historic site
1 Salvage work in advance of the construction of a new bowling green and related facilities recovered the remains of a cremation burial likely to be of Romano British date. The bone fragments were from an adult of unknown age or sex.
2 A small ball, possibly a pin head, and a perforated lead disc, both possibly Roman, were found in the waste earth on the bowling green site in June 1988.
