Notes about this historic site
1 An evaluation in Tiddington Road in June 1992 revealed evidence of activity from the RB period (WA 6479) to the 13th century. 10 trenches were excavated. Some residual Saxon pottery was found presumably deriving from the settlement to the SE. The possibility of isolated Saxon features existing in the evaluation area can not be ruled out, but it is unlikely that these would be numerous or significant.
