Woodbine Cottage, Maxstoke
Woodbine Cottage, a Medieval timber-framed building. It is located 900m east of Duke Bridge, on Coleshill Road.
1 Medieval building, has a pair of crucks in each gable end, one pair exposed in the north end, and the other showing inside. The east front is later square framing. Central stack.
2 The two pairs of crucks are 20 feet apart, with a 9 feet lengthening, south of Southam.
3 The listed building description states that this cottage is thatched, however it now has a tiled roof. There is a modern extension to the south and east, but this does not appear to interfere with the earlier structure.
4 Duke End, north west of the church. A cruck cottage with exposed crucks.
5 Although the above references have been included in this site is is not clear if they relate to the same building.
6 Photographed in 1977.
