Notes about this historic site
[The house]…was not far from the station and on or near the site of one of Mr Wakefields houses. I could trace a moat at one of these places 40 years ago.
Standing building, the cross wing is 16th century whilst the main block is 17th century timber frame and whitened brick. Alterations were made to the windows and a moulded wood doorcase was added in the 19th century.

Archival material relating to construction in Church Road in 1982/2.
Description of thirty seven late medieval sherds found at SP176914.
