Notes about this historic site
1 In the late 16th century Ralph Sheldon built a very fair house here. Dugdale gives a view of the house and grounds in 1730.
2 Illustrations exist of the house in 1716 and 1787. The latter shows that the house was built of brick with stone quoins and embellishments. The house was occupied until 1826 when it was demolished to build a new house.
3 The original Tuscan columns from the front of the house are now at Tidmington House (PRN 2102).
