Notes about this historic site
1 The possible extent of the Medieval settlement, based on the first edition 6″ map of 1886, 35SW.
2 The 1886 map shows a small village at the intersection of 4 roads, with little central triangular spaces. Kineton Lodge on the eastern edge looks as if it might overlie earlier settlement. Two orchards to the south look as if they occupy ridge and furrow fields but there is no ridge and furrow plotting of the parish to clarify this. There is no church and the village is not listed in Domesday.
