The fifth of February, in the Market Square, used to be Orange Day. When cut price oranges were sold. This happened up until 1940.

Hi my name is Sue Crampton, nee Lea, & I am emailing from Auckland, NZ. My Aunt & Uncle, whose names were, George & Tamar Lea, bought the old pub & converted into a dwelling. I would have been about 7 or 8 years old at the time, I’m now 71. I visited it with my parents, before it was converted, it was an amazing experience. Unfortunately I never saw it once it had been converted. I also remember the huge orchard at the back. Anyway, I thought I would just add a comment. Kind Regards Sue
