Notes about this historic site
1 Grange Lane, now a footpath, is the route of an ancient lane, dating from the 17th century. It led to the site of Poplar Tee Farm, demolished in the 1980s. The lane is later named Green’s Lane. It is reported that the lane has a low earthwork in parts to form a ditch. It is possible that this lane dates back to when the Grange in this area was valued in c.1290.
