1 Earthworks of a possible deserted settlement show on air photographs borrowed from NMR – reference numbers not recorded. These have been plotted on the ridge and furrow plot for Grendon Parish (PRN 3946).
2 Whittington shows as a collection of farms, a few houses and apparent empty house plots on 1886 1st Edition OS map
3Dugdale (p797) desctrbes Whittington as ‘a petty village’.
