Notes about this historic site

The probable extent of the medieval settlement based on the OS maps of 1886, 24SW 2nd edition and 24SE 1st edition.
The ridge and furrow plotting of the parish.
The village is not listed in Domesday.
The 1886 maps show a compact village with the buildings along the road which makes a U shape. The gardens, if any, are small and there are no orchards or trees at all. No boundary hedge. The ridge and furrow plotting doesn’t show any survival immediately around the village. The church [MWA992] dates from the medieval period.
