Description of this historic site
The site of the shrunken village of Kinwarton which is of Post Medieval date. The site is visible as an earthwork and is also known from documentary evidence. It is situated 150m south of the church.

Notes about this historic site
1 In 1981 the moat (PRN 5212) and surviving village earthworks were surveyed. Pot sherds collected included Roman (PRN 5214), Medieval (PRN 3774) and Post Medieval ware. The village had been largely deserted by the mid C18.
2 Plan marks site of a number of C18 buildings.
