Site of Possible Windmill to NW of The Lodge

Description of this historic site

Documentary evidence suggests that this may have been the site of a windmill of unknown date. It was marked on a tithe award map of 1841, but no surface traces survive. It was located 300m north of Johnson Place, Henley in Arden.

Notes about this historic site

1 ‘Windmill Hill’.
2 No documentary evidence has been found in the sources covered. The field rises to quite a high eminence in the S and would have been a suitable spot. No evidence for a mound was found, but ploughing would probably have destroyed any evidence.
