Notes about this historic site
Possible site of a Medieval moat.
1 An estate map from 1766 calls this field ‘Moat Close’.
2 This was not accessible during a site visit in 1983 so it was impossible to verify the whether a moat eixisted at this location.

Comments
This would be the moat in the grounds of Bishop Ullathorne Comprehensive school just within the bounds of Coventry. When I used to as a child wander through the grounds to get access to Wainbody Woods, I remember there being some remains of a stone wall within the shallow moat, possibly containing a window arch.
The road leading down to Bishop Ullathorne School is also called Moat Avenue.
