Notes about this historic site
1 Deserted hamlet of Homburn described in Rous(c.1490) may be Home Grange in Stoneleigh. Ref 2 clearly identifies it with Sambourne, but this is wrong.
3 ‘DMH’ marked N of the river and W of Stoneleigh Abbey and a watermill (PRN 2941).
4 Source of reference 3 is uncertain.
5 This reference gives SP3171, but the above grid reference seems more probable.
