The site of a mine and mine shaft, where coal was mined during the Imperial period. The mine shaft is marked on the Ordnance Survey map of 1886. It was situated 200m south of Bedworth Hill Bridge.

Comments
There are approximately eight areas cordoned off and labelled danger mine shaft. I could discern no evidence from their appearance and think that there location may have been ascertained from geophysical surveys possibly connected with extending the area of new housing to the south of the parkland.
