Notes about this historic site
1 At Copston Parva (PRN 3592) there was ‘anciently’ a chapel which is recorded in 1250.
2 The site of the Medieval village was located and field walked by the Wolvey Historical Society (PRN 3592). No evidence for a stone walled building was forthcoming during the survey and it is possible that the chapel was of wattle, daub and thatch. The existence of a chapel here at this date confirms the date for the settlement obtained from the pottery (see PRN 3592).
