Description of this historic site
The site of a quarry dating to the Imperial period. It is marked on the 1776 Enclosure Map. Earthworks are still visible as rough ground 700m north east of Bascote Bridge.

Notes about this historic site
1 In the 1776 Enclosure Award for Long Itchington, two public stone pits and gravel pits were nominated. 1 was on Bascote Heath and the site is still traceable as rough ground at the above grid reference.
