Description of this historic site
The site of Castle Quarry which dates to the Medieval period and was presumably in use during the building of the castle. It survives as an earthwork and is located 400m south of the castle.

Notes about this historic site
1 The castle quarry lay 400m S of Kenilworth Castle.
2 On the NW is a rock face 3.3m high. The base of the quarry is uneven with tree and scrub cover.
4 This quarry was presumably used at the time when the Castle was constructed. It is still very impressive and is about 6-9m deep and very wide and long with signs of actual quarrying of the sides.
