In the 1950s C H was used as a dwelling for apprentices of the BTH co in Rugby. The main house held dormitories, and lounges also a dining room and kitchen etc. The stable yard was converted to more dormitories. I lived there for a couple of years.
I lived here while working as an overseas graduate apprentice with AEI from 1961to 1963 , about two years. I enjoyed living in this grand country house , specially the English food prepared by a team of cooks .I used some of its facilities like the library, billiard room and lunges with other friends .I would love to visit this place again if I get an opportunity.
I spent five happy years here when working for AEI and attending Rugby Technical college . 1962-1967.Some great friendships made and many hours in the carpark and motor cycle sheds .A gallon of petrol 2/6 pence.
