Notes about this historic site
1 Existence of the canal caused the growth of a small industrial area at One Elm where a short canal arm was built parallel to the Birmingham Road. This area is visible on the OS 6″ 1886 map and is shown as extending almost to Arden Street. On modern maps the arm has been filled in leaving only a small indentation in the canal bank.
