We started at the Little School when we were about four years old. In this photo you can see Molly Hope (at the top of the slide), Julie Stretton (holding the doll), Alan Allsop (bottom of the slide), Shirley Kendall, Sheila Sharp, Derrick Smith and Molly Wright.
The building behind the playground was owned by Jack Fuller, but it was demolished many years ago and it’s now a parking space. The ‘Big School’ on the cross roads between Station Road, Market Street and High Street is still there but only the chapel at the back of the photo remains. The building itself is no longer a school and is being turned into flats.
