Notes about this historic site
1 The inner precinct area limits appears to be defined by the multiple bank and ditch surviving best to the south and east of the priory.
2 Reappraisal of evidence for the outer court of the priory. The earthworks south and east of the priory may reflect later landscaping. Speed’s Plan of 1610 shows the ‘Nunry’ buildings in a square enclosure which, unless it is totally schematic, may represent the monastic precinct wall.
