Description of this historic site
Numerous pieces of Roman pottery have been found on Blacklow Hill. This may indicate that there may once have been a Roman Settlement there.

Notes about this historic site
1 On the N slope of the hill, on what appears to be a levelled area, a heavy scatter of Romano British pottery has been revealed by the plough. Other Romano British finds have been made here in the past. The degree of concentration which is confined to the platform suggests an occupation site.
2 The site was beyond the limit of the road-take so it was not excavated.
