The site of a private chapel or oratory. It had its origins in the Medieval period and was situated at Bretts Hall, 300m south east of Ansley Hall.

Notes about this historic site
1 William le Bret had licence for an oratory at Bretts Hall in 1359. This oratory, or more probably its successor, was still in existence in 1750, when Bretts Hall was pulled down to make Ansley Park.

Comments
The hermitage, which is in the grounds, was thought to have been constructed with stones from this.
