Notes about this historic site
1 There was a chapel at Newnham, though no written record of it survives earlier than 1749 when it had been converted to secular use. George Lewing about 1850 notes ‘a piece of ruined wall which is said formerly to have been a chapel’. This has now disappeared.
2 Noted in scrapbook.
