Notes about this historic site
1 The farmer at Tubs End Farm talks of the ‘Town Field’ to the W of his drive as being the site of a deserted Medieval village (Black Death desertion). The field is very ‘hummocky’.
2 Possible linear banks and ditches (also ridge and furrow) in this field on aerial photograph could indicate the location of deserted settlement on the E of the village of Butlers Marston.
3 Various air photographs.
