Notes about this historic site
1 ‘Rincale’ is mentioned in Domesday and ‘Rincelle Wood’ is referred to by Dugdale. A later authority records that Rincele is now commemmorated by Rouncill Lane in Kenilworth. Uneven stretches of ground were recorded at the above grid reference adjoining the stream and suggest that this could be the site of the DMV. In 1968 amorphous disturbances existed immediately SE of the stream: these were probably subject to flooding, and are not indicative of desertion. There was nothing of interest within the indicated area.
