Description of this historic site
The site of a baiting place indicated by circular earthwork banks with mounds in the middle. They may have been used for cock fighting during the Post Medieval or Imperial periods. The site is located on Bush Hill, Flecknoe.

Notes about this historic site
1 About half way down the N slope of Bush Hill are three well-defined circles each containing a small central mound with a shallow ditch round it, outside the ditch a low bank, the diameter of each including outside bank being about 7.6m.
2 The construction and local topography support the idea that these are cockpits – similar features are known elsewhere. The pits are in good condition, suggesting them to be 18th century in date.
