Notes about this historic site

1 Two triangular earthwork sites show on air photographs and are marked on OS maps. The northern area is called ‘Double Pans’ and may have possibly been fishponds.
2 These sites have been plotted on the ridge and furrow plot for Merevale Parish (PRN 3948).
3 Although there is evidence for reuse of this site as fishponds in the Post Medieval period, it was an iron working site in the Medieval period (see PRN 7865).
